Expansion Gap for Bridge Joint: 40.0mm (Allows Movement up to 80mm)

The Bridge Expansion Joint comprises two edge beams equipped with anchorages and a secure Neoprene sealing element firmly held within the housing of the edge beams. This design ensures the joint's water tightness. To ensure comfortable traffic flow, the maximum gap between the edge beams at the road surface when the joint is fully open due to maximum deck contractions is limited to 80mm.

These edge beams serve a dual purpose. They safeguard the adjacent bridge deck concrete from potential damage caused by vehicular impact, and they efficiently transfer vehicular loads to the deck structures through a robust anchorage system.
